長年お世話になっているロフトワークさんからのご依頼で､静岡市産業振興課と大丸松坂屋百貨店 未来定番研究所さんがプロジェクトオーナーの､静岡の伝統工芸品に関する調査報告書｢PADDLES SHIZUOKA｣のデザインをお手伝いさせて頂きました｡

中面のデザインは､行政向けの報告書にありがちな文字の多さや硬さを感じさせないよう､図版や挿絵､タイポグラフィの意匠を取り入れて､カルチャー紙の様に読み進められる紙面を目指しました｡
製本には黒糸の中ミシン綴じを採用｡表紙のグリッドデザインに合わせ､天地の途中から縫い始める仕様とすることで､伝統工芸の制作にも通じるクラフト性を､製本というかたちでも表現しています｡

日本のものづくり､伝統工芸に関して元々自分自身の興味のあるジャンルだった事｡何より､PMの小谷くんやライターの細川さん､カメラマンのモモちゃんなど､初めましてのメンバーが多かったにも関わらず｢良いものを作ろう！｣という熱意に満ち溢れていた､とても楽しいプロジェクトでした｡

I was commissioned by Loftwork, a longtime client, to design PADDLES SHIZUOKA, a research report on Shizuoka’s traditional crafts led by the Shizuoka City Industrial Promotion Division and the Daimaru Matsuzakaya
Future Standard Institute.

For the interior layout, I aimed to move away from the dense, formal appearance typical of government reports. By incorporating diagrams, illustrations, and expressive typography, I created pages that read more like a
cultural magazine while remaining informative and accessible.
The book was bound using black thread saddle stitching. To complement the grid design of the cover, the stitching begins partway along the spine rather than at the edges, adding a handcrafted detail that reflects the craftsmanship
found in traditional Japanese crafts.
