In Japanese architecture and craftsmanship, there's an aesthetic sensibility that finds value in work that isn’t immediately visible.
Centuries-old techniques, culture shaped by the land, the trust built between people — not visible on the surface, yet together they have given traditional craft in Japan its characteristic beauty and resilience.
Our name, Hozo (枘), comes from the Japanese word for the most essential joint in tsugite — the traditional technique for connecting different materials like wood and stone without using nails or screws.
A hozo is small, but it's what holds an entire structure together.
We see our own work the same way: through photography, cinematography, and design, we bring together different values, cultures, and eras — joinin them firmly, made to last.

愛知県立芸術大学 美術学部デザイン・工芸科 デザイン専攻卒業｡
都内のデザイン事務所､広告制作会社を経て､
2018年に株式会社枘(ほぞ)設立｡
紙や印刷物の手触りや温もり､
制作物が人の手に渡った時の感動を想像しながら､
ブランディングを軸に､グラフィック・パッケージデザインなど
国内外を問わず活動中｡
Born in 1988 in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan.
Graduated from the Department of Design and Craft,
Faculty of Arts, at Aichi University of the Arts.
After working at a design studio
and an advertising production company in Tokyo,
founded HOZO Inc. in 2018.
With a deep appreciation for the tactile qualities
and warmth of paper and printed materials—
always imagining the experience
of those who receive them—
works across branding,
graphic design, and packaging design
for clients in Japan and abroad.
